You can never have too much security, especially in your own homes, a space that has always been considered shelter and protection from the adversities of the outside world.
It is essential to guarantee it in all homes by starting to act on the dangers that can affect the little ones.
It is well known that children grow and with them the curiosity to explore everything that surrounds them; every day, everyday objects can hide a pitfall or danger: the Emmebi product range was designed with an eye on the little ones.
All EMMEBI roller blinds and curtain systems comply with the regulations on child safety (EN13120 and the two new standard EN16433 concerning tests to prevent strangulation and EN16434 containing the requirements for safety devices) and include all the devices necessary to adapt the curtains and systems to safe environments.< /p>
Emmebi S.p.A considers customer safety a fundamental element and is committed to building roller blinds and awning systems that comply with regulations and the highest technical standards.
Emmebi has introduced the following devices for child safety:
MAGNETIC BREAKWAY SYSTEM (Brevetto MurtraGroup)
Integrated automatic release system of the chain: by applying a weight greater than or equal to 6 kg downwards, the magnetic system detaches, avoiding strangulation and ensuring the safety of the child.
CORD TENSIONER "R"
The cord tensioner is necessary to avoid the formation of dangerous loops. It must be installed on the wall at a different height from the floor depending on whether the installation height of the awning is known or not (see attached image)
SAFETY RELEASE
Automatic opening system of the rope if a weight greater than or equal to 6 kg is applied
To ensure compliance with the new legislation it is essential to know the installation height, with all the necessary information it is possible to calculate the height of the rope or chain.
If the installation height is unknown, proceed according to the following diagram.
1. What responsibility does the reseller/installer have?
The dealer/installer is responsible for informing the user of the potential risk and correct installation.
2. What is expected for tents already on the market before the Regulation comes into force?
Awnings already produced and placed on the market, installed or sold ex ante norm, must comply with the provisions in force at the time of their installation.
3. When did these regulations come into force?
The rules came into force on January 1, 2014.
4. What if you install a roller blind or a non-EU blind system?
If you sell for example in the USA or Canada, you will have to comply with local regulations, which are often more stringent.
5. What to do if it is known that the curtains are intended for a professional environment, without the presence of children?
The rules apply if it is known that there may be a potential risk to children. If these are not present, for example in offices, barracks, high schools, factories, laboratories etc., then it will be possible to avoid equipping the tents with safety systems, but it will be necessary to warn with a label containing the following text: " Product designed for installation in environments where the access and permanence of small children is not foreseen." and sign a liability resolution.
For all cases in which the intended use is not known, it is mandatory to prepare the awnings with safety systems and devices as prescribed by the regulations.
